Leeds United midfielder casts serious shade at match officials after blunder

Leeds United won their sixth game on the bounce this afternoon, turning over local neighbours Huddersfield Town on their own turf by a 2-0 scoreline.

Yet another team display, yet another performance where the Whites kept a lid on their opponents and yet another game where the Bielsa system continued to steamroller forwards. It was a tight opening 45 minutes and at times a tricky closing 45 with the Terriers coming close on several occasions.

However, what mattered in the second 45 were goals for the Whites from Gianni Alioski (50′) and Pablo Hernandez (78′) wrapping up the three points for Leeds, a result which returned them to the top of the Sky Bet Championship pile and put distance between them and the following pack.

In his after-match presser, Marcelo Bielsa said that his side could have scored more. In fact, United did have the ball in the back of the net, only for match officials to scratch it off due to an offside decision. It was a decision that Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has strong feelings about.

As sarcasm goes, this Instagram video is more than clear and direct in its intended meaning. Klich rebounded back to last season’s form with a brace of goals in a 4-0 pasting of Middlesbrough. He’d already hit the post in today’s game early in the first-half with Leeds in some form of ascendency.

It is an incisive piece of commentary here from Klich, a player enjoying an ever-present revival at Elland Road since Bielsa’s arrival. Sometimes the best message that can be delivered needs no words – that’s the case here.
