Journalist Tom Sandells has reported that Leeds United’s loaned out defender Lewie Coyle is open to making a permanent move to loan club Fleetwood Town, with the club planning to sell him on a permanent basis this January.
We covered reports here on The72 last month saying that Leeds United were ready to move defender Lewie Coyle out on a permanent basis in the January transfer window after a number of loan spells away from Elland Road.
And now, more reports have emerged regarding Coyle’s situation, with journalist Tom Sandells saying that Coyle would be open to making a permanent move to loan club Fleetwood Town, adding that the academy graduate is aware of the Whites’ plans to sell him in the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking on Twitter, Sandells reported:
Just coming away from Poolfoot, Joey Barton enjoyed giving a bit to Blackpool as well as naming their team for Saturday.

Coyle has spent the last two and a half years out on loan away from Leeds United, all being spent with League One side Fleetwood Town. And despite his strong performances for the Cod Army, the club are keen for him to leave on a permanent basis this winter.
Coyle has played a total of 113 times for the Cod Army along the way, providing 14 assists in the process. The 24-year-old has shown versatility in his time with Fleetwood, playing at right-back, right-midfield and even in the middle of the park as a centre-back or central midfielder on a few occasions.
Coyle made his breakthrough into the Leeds United senior side under Steve Evans, going onto played 23 times for the Whites. But with the Whites ready to listen to offers, it seems unlikely that he will be adding to that total.
