Hull City youngster Jacob Greaves is attracting the attention of several League One clubs, according to reports.
The 19-year-old is currently enjoying a successful loan spell at League Two side Cheltenham Town and there are rumours that he could be snapped up by another side when the transfer window opens in January.
Hull Live claims that “five or six” League One clubs are interested in signing Greaves who was voted the EFL’s Young Player of the Month for September.
He has become a regular in Cheltenham Town’s starting XI and Robins boss Michael Duff even said that he thinks Greaves will be a starter in a Championship team within the next 12 months.
Although Greaves has been linked with a move away in January, Tigers boss Grant McCann wants the teenager to continue his development at Whaddon Road by staying for the rest of the season at the League Two promotion hopefuls.
He said: “At this present time, after speaking with Jacob, he’s loving it down there at Cheltenham.
”We could very easily bring him back and put him into a League One club tomorrow. There’s been five or six clubs phoned about him, that’s how well he’s done.
“But we feel as though he’s under the right guidance in Michael Duff. We feel as though he’s in a team that’s going for promotion and we feel he’s in the best environment for him to grow as a player.
”If you want to twist my arm on it, ideally for us he would stay and get 45 games at a team going for promotion.
“It’s about learning his trade from an ex-team-mate of mine, who I played with at international level and someone who’s played in the Premier League. He’s a very good coach and a very good manager. He’s in the best environment to learn and grow.”
