Liverpool to make decision on striker in ‘early January’ amid Leeds United and Swansea City interest

Liverpool are set to make a decision on the future of striker Rhian Brewster in ‘early January’ amid interest from Leeds United and Swansea City.

According to The Times, the Reds are facing growing interest from a whole host of Championship clubs enquiring about the possibility of signing Brewster on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Liverpool could either keep Brewster as a back-up striker or loan him out to a side in the second tier of English football. The England under-21 star has been on the bench several times for Liverpool and has picked up two senior appearances however both of these have been in the Carabao Cup.

The teenager is currently behind Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as well as Divock Origi in the Anfield pecking order and this doesn’t look likely to change any time soon.

Jurgen Klopp is keen for Brewster to gain regular first team football but is also looking for assurances that his striker will play and feature heavily whilst out on loan.

A loan move for the 19-year-old could be a wise decision for Liverpool and Brewster with the talented youngster being given the opportunity to showcase his ability on a more senior and regular basis.

Leeds have had a huge interest in Brewster but following their situation with on-loan striker Eddie Nketiah and his lack of match action that could work against them.

Swansea might be an interesting move for the teenager who will be desperate to show that he is capable of making the step and score goals on a consistent basis.
