Nottingham Forest set to offload out of favour trio in January

According to a report from The Mirror (4th December, page 49), Nottingham Forest are set to offload out of favour trio Michael Hefele, Claudio Yacob and Zach Clough in the January transfer window.

Centre-back Michael Hefele, midfielder Claudio Yacob and forward Zach Clough are all yet to play a single minute of Championship football under Sabri Lamouchi, and it seems that the Frenchman will not be finding a use for the trio.

It has now been claimed by The Mirror that Hefele, Yacob and Clough will be sold by the club in the upcoming January transfer window, which is now just under a month away. With Forest in the fight for a place in the Premier League, they want to add a few new faces to bolster Lamouchi’s squad, but will not be able to do so unless they move on some out of favour players first.

Three of the players who are set to depart are the previously mentioned trio. Each of Hefele, Yacob and Clough have all been out of favour under Lamouchi and are yet to play any competitive football for him.

Centre-back Hefele has been with Forest since the summer of 2018, signing from Huddersfield Town. He has played a total 18 games for the club with all coming in the first half of last season. The German’s involvement last season was limited by injury and since has been unable to return to the first-team picture.

Since joining the club in January 2017, Zach Clough has found that most of his game time has come out on loan, spending time with former club Bolton Wanderers and Rochdale. The 24-year-old has featured 31 times for Nottingham Forest, netting four goals.

Yacob signed for Forest in September 2018 on a free transfer after his release from West Brom. His involvement since arriving at the City Ground has been limited, playing 17 times along the way.
