Leeds United scouts in attendance to watch England under-16 sensation

Leeds United scouts were in attendance to watch England under-16 sensation Ben Chrisene who is also a target for Aston Villa according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 15-year-old is currently playing for Exeter City in League Two but is beginning to gather interest from clubs higher up in the football pyramid.

There appears to be a huge battle for the teenager with Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool as well as Bayern Munich all believed to be tracking Chrisene, who made his senior debut earlier this season.

It is believed that scouts from Leeds United were in the crowd as Chrisene was part of the England under-16 side which took on Russia in the Sportchain Cup.

Reports that he has been training with Midlands side Aston Villa have been circulating and he can sign his first professional contract in early 2020 when he turns 16-years-old.

Villa are not expecting a huge transfer window in January, but that is not to say that Smith will not be looking to improve the impressive academy squads at Bodymoor Heath.

Chrisene’s manager at Exeter City, Matt Taylor has already heaped praise on him and claimed that the club’s youngest-ever player has the chance to make it at the highest level.

“He’s going to play at the top level, it’s as simple as that,” Taylor said. “What that top level is for Ben, he’s 15 years old, I can’t tell you that yet. But I think he’ll play at a top, top standard of football.”

There is clearly plenty of admiration for Chrisene and with huge football clubs interested in acquiring his signature it would take some effort for Leeds United to win the race for him.
