Reading striker George Puscas has won a prestigious award in his native Romania, being named Romanian football of the year.
The 23-year-old also picked up the striker of the year award at the Romanian Football gala, capping off a wonderful year for the youngster.
He has been in excellent form for his country this season, finding the back of the net five times in 10 games, and will be hoping to guide them to the 2020 European Championships.
They are in Play-Off path A, and will face Iceland in the Semi-Finals.
Not only has Puscas been in excellent form for his country, but he has impressed with Sky Bet Championship side Reading as well, most recently netting a five minute hat-trick to help the Royals secure a 3-1 away win at Wigan Athletic.
As quoted by the Reading Chronicle, George Puscas’ agent Catalin Sarmasan said:
“It’s been about 12 years since I first met him. He was a blonde child, with two big blue eyes, very attentive to everything that was going on around him. He loved the void and knew how to enjoy it with a disarming sincerity. I didn’t intuit then how much my life and career will influence me, but I was always convinced that George is special.
“She then confirmed it to us, in countless memorable moments, that it would take me too long to tell you now. Tonight was another special time, within the Romanian Football Gala, crowning the first part of his career with an award that would honor any footballer in the country.”
“And I feel extremely proud that to my right is the special George Alexandru Puscas, Romania’s best footballer in 2019!”
