Swansea City chasing January loan deal for Liverpool striker

Swansea City want to sign Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan.

The Championship side are plotting a swoop for the youngster in the upcoming January transfer window, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Brewster, who is 19 years-old, is likely to leave the Premier League table toppers on loan this winter to gain some first team experience.

He has been linked with fellow top flight sides but his game time may be limited so a move to the second tier could be more desirable for him and Liverpool.

Swansea are hoping they can jump in the queue to sign him and bring him to Wales for the rest of the season. Steve Cooper’s side are currenlty 8th in the table and a point outside the Play-Off positions.

Brewster was born in London and started his career at Chelsea before switching to Liverpool at the age of 14.

He has since been a key player for the Reds’ youth sides and has also played regularly for England at youth levels as well.

Brewster has been on the bench on a number of occasions for Jurgen Klopp’s side and made his first team debut in an EFL Cup tie against MK Dons in September.

He is highly-rated by the Anfield side and his first loan move is vital for his development. Could Swansea prove a sensible option for the teenager for the second half of this season?
