Aston Villa are interested in Millwall winger Jed Wallace.
The Premier League side have identified the highly-rated Championship midfielder as a potential target for the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Express (1.12.19, page 65).
Wallace, who is 25 years-old, has had an impressive last couple of seasons in the second tier for the Lions and they are likely to face a battle to hold on to his services this winter.
Villa have made a strong start to life back in the top flight under Dean Smith and are eager to bolster their squad to help cement their league position.
Wallace has scored seven goals in 16 appearances so far this term and Gary Rowett’s side are believed to value him at around £10 million.
The Reading-born winger joined the Lions in 2016 initially on loan but the deal was later made permanent. He played a key part in their promotion from League One in 2017 and has helped the London side compete in the Championship since then.
Wallace started his career with spells as a youngster with the likes of Carshalton Athletic, Lewes and Farnborough before Portsmouth snapped him up in 2011.
He went on to play 121 games for Pompey and chipped in with 30 goals which earned him a move to Wolves in 2015.
Wallace struggled to break into the side at Molinuex but has since found form at Millwall. Could he make the move to Wolves’ Midlands rivals Villa this January?
