Coventry boss provides update on future of loan star

Coventry City boss Mark Robins says he fully expects loan star Callum O’Hare to stay at the club for the rest of the season.

The talented young playmaker joined the Sky Blues from Midlands neighbours Aston Villa in August and his performances have helped to win over the fans.

His cameos from the bench included back-to-back goals in the first few weeks of the season against Blackpool and Oxford United and Robins has previously told the press that he sees O’Hare as an “outstanding” and “classy” footballer.

With Coventry currently 5th in League One, Robins is hoping to maintain a promotion push in the hope of securing the Sky Blues’ return to the Championship after an eight-year absence.

However, to do that, he will need to keep together his squad of players and when asked by Coventry Live about the future of O’Hare and Bristol City’s Liam Walsh, Robins revealed that he expects both players to remain at the club for the rest of the season.

He said: “I think there are break clauses for both players (O’Hare and Liam Walsh from Bristol City) but I honestly don’t see why there would be a major issue.

“They are both getting good game time. Callum has had a breather of late but will get back in at some point, I’m sure, but he’s playing minutes anyway.

”It’s been a really good loan for them as well as their parent clubs. But at the end of the day we’ll find out in time, but I am sure their clubs are happy.”
