QPR striker completes loan switch to Aldershot Town

QPR striker Lewis Walker has joined Aldershot Town on loan.

The youngster has signed for the Shots on an initial deal until January, as announced by their official club website.

He is the son of former England defender Des Walker and the younger brother of Nottingham Forest striker Tyler.

Walker, who is 20 years-old, joined QPR in November 2018 and made his senior debut for the London side in a Championship fixture in April against Swansea City. He has since made three more appearances for the Hoops.

The R’s boss Mark Warburton has sanctioned a loan move to Aldershot for him now to gain some first team experience. They are currently 19th in the National League and four points above the relegation zone.

They will be hoping Walker can score the goals to help lift them up the league table.

He started his career in non-league football with Ilkeston Town and impressed for them before being snapped up by Derby County in 2016.

Walker never made a senior appearance for the Rams but progressed from their Under-18’s to their Under-23’s side during his time at Pride Park. He also gained some first-team experience during a brief loan spell at National League North side Darlington.

He was released by Derby at the end of the 2017/18 season and subsequently joined QPR a few months later. Walker will now be looking to impress on loan at Aldershot and could make his debut on Saturday at home to Chesterfield.
