“I want to apologise” – Mark Warburton fuming after QPR capitulate in 4-0 Nottingham Forest loss

Speaking to the club’s official website, Mark Warburton has moved to apologise to Queens Park Rangers fans after his side fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

Queens Park Rangers conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes of their game against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, suffering a 4-0 defeat.

Tobias Figueiredo put Forest ahead 15 minutes in and five minutes after the restart for the second half, Lee Wallace was sent off for QPR, The R’s had the chances to steal a point in the second half but in the last 10 minutes they capitulated, with Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho and Alfa Semedo scoring late on.

Speaking after the game, R’s boss Mark Warburton was far from happy, apologising to the fans that saw his side fall apart late on. He said:

“At 1-0 down with ten men and ten minutes to go we miss a big chance and it was a big moment in the game. But from that point on it was unacceptable from us as a group of players and staff because we are all one team, we win together and lose together.

“From the 81st minute it was not QPR, we have given away three soft goals. The fact we went down to ten men is irrelevant – we didn’t win headers, didn’t win tackles and gave the ball away too cheaply.

“You have to enjoy the good moments but tonight is not acceptable. We weren’t good enough. I want to apologise to the fans, you don’t want to lose at home anyway but in that manner, it wasn’t acceptable.

“You can’t capitulate like that at home and concede three goals of that nature. We can praise the players when they are doing well but they must take the criticism when it comes their way.”
