Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has predicted his side will face their ‘toughest test of the season’ this evening when they make the trip to the Black Country to face West Bromwich Albion.
As reported by the Express & Star, Johnson has sung the praises of the Midlands side and knows they will have to be at their very best if they wish to get something out of the game.
“You’d expect a group of players of that quality to be dangerous,” he said. “They’ve had parachute payments and started off with a good Premier League squad.”
“Last year they didn’t quite do it but this year with a couple of good additions – with the likes of Sawyers for example – and they look dangerous. It’s probably going to be our toughest ask of the season.”
“Particularly as they’re top of the league after a good win on Saturday. But we’ll go there and we’ll be energised and be fresh and look to give a good performance.”
Bristol City drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest last time out and are unbeaten in their last five games. They are also the top scorers away from home whilst West Brom have looked susceptible in defence on their home turf.
This is sure to be a tough encounter for both sides with them both looking to continue their early season impressive form and a win for West Brom would make it four in a row for the month of November.
The Baggies have only lost one game all season however, and boss Slaven Bilic will be well aware that they will need to claim a victory if they want to reclaim top spot from Leeds United following Marco Bielsa’s side’s 1-0 victory over Reading on Tuesday evening.
