Derby County keeping tabs on out-of-favour Celtic winger

Sky Bet Championship side Derby County are closely monitoring Celtic’s out of favour winger Scott Sinclair in preparation for a bid in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider.

The Rams showed an interest in Sinclair back in the summer, but nothing ever came of their interest, but Football Insider have suggested that they could make a move for the former Swansea City man this January as they attempt to strengthen their team in the wide department.

Derby’s season has not started as well as fans would have liked, but Saturday’s victory over promotion chasing Preston North End saw them climb to eleventh in the Sky Bet Championship table.

It is an improvement for Derby and Phillip Cocu, who has not made the desired impact since taking over from Frank Lampard, who left the club to take charge of Premier League side Chelsea just a month after guiding the Rams to the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Scott Sinclair, who represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympic Games, has stated he is keen on a move south of the border to try and revitalise his career.

He has not started a game for the Scottish Premier League champions yet this season, and was not even included in the matchday squad last weekend.

At 30, he still has a number of years left to play, and the sooner he completes a move the better for him.

His contract at Celtic expires at the end of the season, which would allow Derby to secure his signature for a cut-throat price.
