West Brom star winger provides insight into life at the Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion winger Grady Diangana has provided an insight into life at the Hawthorns under boss Slaven Bilic according to an interview with the Express & Star.

Diangana was no stranger to the Croatian boss when he made the loan move from West Ham to the Baggies having previously worked under him when Bilic was manager of the Hammers.

In the summer transfer window, Derby County showed an interest in the wideman before Bilic called his former employers and hijacked the deal at the last minute.

Diangana has flourished at the Hawthorns having scored four goals and provided five assists so far in his time at the club and has impressed with his dazzling performances on the wing.

The England youth international claims he is loving life at the Hawthorns and revealed how his move happened. “It was amazing,” Diangana said. “Bilic gave me a call and explained to me his vision and how he wanted his team to set up, and how he wanted us to play. It all started from there.”

“When we were both at West Ham, I was back and forth between the academy and first team. I trained a few times with the first team. And then when I got to Albion he was very welcoming.”

“He’s helped me to develop my game and for me, he was very important in my decision. And ever since things have gone very well. It’s been an amazing season so far for us. There is a lot of work still to do. But I’m enjoying it.”

First-team coach Julian Dicks has also praised the attitude of Diangana saying: “He is a great lad. He is very polite and for me that’s a very big thing because manners cost nothing.”

“You say good morning to everybody. Even if you don’t like people you say good morning, you hold the door open for them. That’s just the way I am and he’s exactly the same. He’s a very polite young man.”
