Middlesbrough boss speaks highly of Hull duo ahead of Sunday clash

Middlesbrough are winless in nine games, and will be hoping for just their third win of the season on Sunday when they face Hull City at The Riverside.

Middlesbrough are in 22nd in the table at the moment, and they could break out of the relegation zone if results go their way this weekend.

Hull City are the visitors to Teesside on Sunday in front of the Sky Sports cameras, and Boro Head Coach Jonathan Woodgate was quick to praise this weekend’s opponents.

“They are a very good team on the counter-attack and they have some very good players” he said in Thursday’s pre-match press conference.

Woodgate picked out two Hull players in particular for Boro to watch out for, with their wide players being the danger men according to the Boro boss.

“They have players like Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki” he said. “Grosicki’s a Polish international who I have liked for years.”

There have been rumours linking Grosicki to Middlesbrough in recent transfer windows, however nothing came to fruition.

Hull have travelled well so far this campaign, winning games against teams high up in the standings, as Woodgate was quick to point out.

“And they have a good record away from home this season. They won at Fulham. They won at Forest. They won at Luton.

“They are a very good side and we need to be on our guard.”

The game kicks off at midday on Sunday, and will be live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event.
