West Ham United set to rival Norwich City for Stoke City goalkeeper

West Ham United are set to rival Norwich City for the services of Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers are currently in the worst form they have encountered in recent times under manager Manuel Pellegrini and they are certain to be looking to make reinforcements in January in order to steer clear of any relegation worries.

Their star goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has been out injured since the end of September and he is not set to return until the start of January.

West Ham have had to call upon their second choice stopper Roberto who has had many high profile errors in games and cost the Hammers vital points.

Pellegrini is sure to be losing faith in the Spaniard and the London club are looking to bring in a more experienced keeper who has played in the Premier League before.

The ExWHUemployee on a West Ham podcast claimed: “We are apparently looking to sign another keeper, possibly because we’ve realised how dire the situation is. There is talk of trying to get Jack Butland from Stoke. Potentially sign him on loan with a view to a permanent deal, obviously if you are going to get him on loan they would have to pay a large fee.”

Butland has been in really poor form for Stoke so far this season, partly due to the speculation regarding his future in the summer. However, in the last few years he has been a great acquisition between the sticks and a return to the Premier League could now be on the cards.

Norwich are also thought to be interested but the lure of playing for West Ham could be just the move that Butland needs to resurrect his career at the highest level.
