Peterborough United are set to field their strongest possible starting XI tonight (November 19) in their FA Cup replay with Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage.

Posh were expected to give some young players the chance, but the Peterborough Telegraph have reported that Darren Ferguson will name a full strength side as the club look to reach the second round and set up a tie at home to Dover Athletic.

Peterborough have had some exciting fixtures in previous years of the famous competition. They have traveled to both Chelsea and Aston Villa, picking up a famous 3-1 victory at the latter just two seasons ago.

They have also enjoyed games on television against the likes of Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.

Reaching the third round is huge for any side in Sky Bet League One, as it offers the chance to face one of this country’s better sides, and Posh will be hoping to sail past Stevenage tonight before beating Dover in the next round to do so.

The original fixture between the two sides finished 1-1, with Posh having Marcus Maddison to thank for his late wonder-goal that drew the sides level after Stevenage had taken the lead.

Darren Ferguson’s side have had a while to prepare for this game. The club’s last fixture was a week ago against Cambridge United, but because they had already qualified for the next round, Ferguson fielded virtually a youth team.

His first team players have not played since the last game against Stevenage back on November 9.
