Newcastle United manager determined to reunite himself with Hull City star

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has pleaded with the club’s boardroom staff to bring Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen to the club, either in January or in the summer according to the Northern Echo.

Bowen played under Bruce during the latter’s time in charge of Hull City, but the 22-year old has come on leaps and bounds since then and is one of the most sought after prospects in the Football League.

He has been Hull’s star man for the last two seasons, and was expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window, but somehow the Sky Bet Championship club kept hold of him.

However, his excellent form has continued into this season, and it is unlikely that he will be a second tier player for much longer.

According to the Northern Echo, Bruce wanted to sign Bowen in the summer, but the club had different ideas and went for alternatives instead, but they report that the club are still monitoring the Hull City star as his future is currently up in the air.

His contract at the KCOM Stadium expires at the end of the season, although Hull do have the option to extend it by a further year.

Reports also suggest they have a lucrative offer in place to keep Bowen at the club for at least another three years.

However, the Northern Echo reports that the 22-year-old is yet to see any evidence of a new offer. Something needs to be done quickly from Hull’s point of view otherwise he may not be their player for much longer.
