Derby County are eyeing a swoop for in-form Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet according to Football Insider.
The Frenchman has scored 12 goals in League One so far this campaign including five goals in his last four games and this has alerted clubs higher up in the football pyramid.
Gnanduillet is out of contract with the Seasiders next summer and second tier clubs are now looking to acquire his services according to reports.
As well as his goal return, his overall play as a striker has been impressive in leading the line for Blackpool as he has helped guide them to fifth in the third tier of English football.
The Rams are in the market for striking reinforcements in January as they look to climb up the Championship table after a slow start to life under new manager Phillip Cocu with them lying in 16th place in the league with many supporters hoping that another season of pushing for promotion would be on the horizon.
However, despite being below the midpoint of the Championship, Derby are only seven points outside the play-off places such is the congestion of one of the toughest leagues in the world and so a forward addition could make all the difference come the second half of the season.
Gnanduillet scored a brace in Blackpool’s latest win over AFC Wimbledon and there have been plenty of scouts watching the 27-year-old this season.
He has scored 12 goals from 20 matches this season to lift his tally in a Tangerines shirt to 37 from 129 appearances with him really beginning to show his quality this campaign.
Derby are amongst the lowest scorers in the Championship with only 18 goals in their first 16 matches in the league this season and another striker would certainly be a welcome addition to Cocu’s side.
