West Brom transfer for Brazilian star ‘virtually guaranteed’ despite Manchester United speculation

West Bromwich Albion’s transfer for Brazilian star Matheus Pereira is ‘virtually guaranteed’ despite speculation linking him with Manchester United over the last weekend.

According to Correio da Manha, his move to the Hawthorns is pretty much nailed on due to terms in his loan contract with the club.

Albion paid a loan fee of £725,000 to Sporting Lisbon in order to acquire the services of Pereira for a season-long loan deal and should they win promotion or the playmaker makes a set number of appearances, they will be obliged to pay a further £8.25million in order to retain him on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old attacker has been impressing in England’s second division, helping West Brom to top spot in the league and has already provided seven assists in the Championship putting him top of the charts in that respect despite having only arrived on transfer deadline day.

Due to a string of impressive performances, we reported that there was top flight interest in the Brazilian-born star from Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to boost his squad however this has been pretty much dismissed by reports that West Brom are in pole position to sign the forward.

Manager, Slaven Bilic has already spoken of his admiration for Pereira and stated that the Midlands club can sign the player at any given time and such is the impact he has had this come happen sooner rather than later.

Naturally, Albion supporters had been concerned by the speculation but it appears that Pereira’s next move will be to the Hawthorns as opposed to elsewhere.
