Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough among six Championship sides keen on Australian striker

According to a report from TEAMtalk, six Championship sides have made enquiries regarding Livingston’s Australian forward Lyndon Dykes.

Clubs up and down the Football League ladder are well underway with their preparations for the January transfer window, as they look to bring in new faces to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season. Now, it has been claimed that six Championship sides have identified one striker as a potential target.

Scottish Premiership side Livingston have reportedly received enquiries from six second-tier sides regarding Australian striker Lyndon Dykes. Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Cardiff City and Swansea City are all said to have asked about Dykes in the run-up to the January transfer window.

Dykes, 26, has played 14 games across all competitions so far this season, scoring five goals and laying on two assists in the process. Livingston currently sit in 7th place in the table after 13 games with Dykes as their second top scorer behind Steven Lawless, despite missing four games through injury and one through suspension so far this season.

The six Championship sides are said to have watched over Dykes in the early stages of the season ahead of a possible move in January and a move could be on the cards if Livingston receive a big enough offer for the forward.

Dykes, who can play anywhere across the front three, started his career in Australia before spending a brief stint with the Queen of the South academy, returning to Australia less than a year later.

He then returned to Queen of the South in 2016 and went on to play 136 times for QotS, scoring 24 and providing 32 assists in the process.
