Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur receive boost in pursuit of West Brom man

West Bromwich Albion may have to cash in on key defender Nathan Ferguson this winter.

The Baggies could have to sell him to avoid losing him for a minimal fee next summer, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Ferguson, who is 19 years-old, is attracting Premier League interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. He is out of contract at the Hawthorns next summer.

He has broken into the Baggies’ first team this season and has established himself as a key player under Slaven Bilic.

The Birmingham-born defender can play as either a centre-back and a full-back and it is this versatility that makes him an admirable proposition for top flight clubs.

Ferguson joined West Brom at the age of eight and rose up through the youth ranks with the Midlands side. He signed his first professional contract in December 2017 and became an important player for their development side.

He has been called up to England at U18, U19 and most recently U20 and is being tipped for big things in the future.

Bilic handed Ferguson his first team debut on the opening day of this season against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and he has since made 13 appearances for the Baggies, scoring his first goal against QPR at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in September.

West Brom fans will be desperate they can hold on to him in January and see off interest from Palace and Spurs.
