Leeds United £8million target discusses future

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has said he is not paying any attention to rumours linking him with a move south of the border.

The Finnish international has been linked with a move to Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United in the last few weeks, but the 24-year-old is focusing on his game rather than the rumours that he could soon be on the move.

Kamara made the move to the Glasgow club back in January, joining them for just £50,000. He has been valued at £8million by Rangers, who would be reluctant to sell him.

Speaking while on international duty, Kamara told YLE (via HITC) that he is simply focusing on playing rather than looking for a move elsewhere.

He said: “You know what, I’m a Rangers player until told otherwise, I have no relevance to anything else so I’m focused on Rangers and Finland at the moment.”

Signing Glen Kamara could be the boost that Leeds United need to push on and achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

The Yorkshire club are currently third in the Sky Bet Championship, just two points behind leaders West Bromwich Albion and outside of the automatic promotion places on goal difference.

Kamara is a box to box midfielder who would work perfectly in Marcelo Bielsa’s system, according to former Aston Villa and Scotland defender Alan Hutton, who has taken up work as a pundit since retiring from professional football.

Leeds United’s next game is not until November 23, when they make the journey south to face Luton Town.
