Former top-flight defender claims Leeds United’s £8million target will suit the club perfectly

Former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has claimed that Rangers’ Glen Kamara would suit Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United’s style perfectly, amid rumours that the Finnish international is a January target for the Sky Bet Championship club.

Reports have emerged over the last few days suggesting that Kamara, who joined the Scottish Premier League giants for just £50,000 back in January, could be set to complete a move south of the border in January, with Leeds United among a number of clubs interested in securing his signature.

He is somewhat of an unknown quantity to many people in England, having come through the youth set-up at Arsenal he has a few loan spells in the lower leagues before moving to Scotland.

But Alan Hutton, who following the conclusion of his career now works as a pundit, feels that he would fit right in at Elland Road.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Scotland international said: “Kamara’s a young, fit guy who can get about, really energetic and also get up and down the pitch and I really think that’s the type of player that Marcelo Bielsa looks for.”

“He’s got all the qualities, he ticks all the boxes, it wouldn’t surprise me if something came up in January.”

As mentioned before, Kamara only joined the Glasgow club back in January, but has become a regular for Steven Gerrard’s side. He has played 20 games for Rangers this season, scoring one goal.

As well as his experience at club level, Kamara has also appeared 14 times for his native Finland.
