Carlisle United fans react to Steven Pressley’s departure

Carlisle United have parted company with Steven Pressley.

The Cumbrians are in the hunt for a new manager to help turn their season around, The72 have picked out five potential candidates for the job.

The League Two side are currently 19th in the league having won five games out of their opening 17 matches.

Pressley, who has previously managed Falkirk, Coventry City and Fleetwood Town, won 34.5% of games in charge of the Brunton Park outfit.

Carlisle released an official club statement yesterday which read: “Steven has given his all and has worked tirelessly since the day he joined us. We understand the challenges and have supported him throughout, but we haven’t seen the evidence of progress we expected or needed to see.”

“This is not something we can allow to continue, so sadly it is time to change, move on and look forward. I want to say a personal thank you to Steven, he has been a pleasure to work with and this has not been an easy decision for us to make.”
