Blackburn Rovers boss confident results will change despite poor form

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has admitted to the Lancashire Telegraph that his side have not won enough games in a results business but maintains the fact that they have been putting in decent performances.

Blackburn Rovers had hoped that they would be higher than 18th place at this stage of the season, with the ambition of this season to bridge the gap from mid-table and push for a place in the top six.

However, they currently sit 10 points clear of the top six and five away from the relegation zone. While they may not be in the position they want to be in, Tony Mowbray has acknowledged that his side have reasons to be optimistic despite their poor form. He said:

“I judge the team and performances, I know football is about results. We could have capitulated at 2-0 but they are all fighting, they’re all working hard, giving it their best shot.

“I have spoken about trying to build a team, a club. It takes time. They have a lot of heart this group of players, whether we have the quality to be at the top end of the table is another question. But I’m happy to go to war every game with them, they’re a great set of lads, made of the right stuff.

“It’s difficult to go and find another Bradley Dack in every window, you have to search and search for them and let people settle in.

“How have the last few weeks been? Football is about winning games and we haven’t won enough. The frustration is there for us all. But there is enough evidence that we’re going to be fine in this league.”
