Tranmere Rovers, MK Dons, Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle keen on Scunthorpe United striker

It has been claimed by Football Insider that Scunthorpe United striker Olufela Olomola – currently on loan with fellow League Two side Carlisle United – is wanted by League One pair Tranmere Rovers and MK Dons, as well as League Two duo Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle.

With the January transfer window now under two months away, clubs up and down the Football League and readying their recruitment plans. Now, it has been claimed that four League One and League Two sides could be set to battle it out for former Southampton youngster Olufela Olomola.

Olomola is currently on loan with Carlisle United from fellow League Two side Scunthorpe United and the Iron could make the decision to bring him back and move him away on a permanent basis should they receive a good enough offer for his services.

League One pair Tranmere Rovers and MK Dons are said to be keen on the striker, while League Two duo Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle have also been credited with interest in Olomola. So far this season, Olomola has scored six goals, with five coming in the league and one coming in Carlisle’s 4-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Cup First Round last weekend.

Olomola spent time in the Arsenal youth set up before moving to Southampton. He spent most of his time with the Saints in their youth sides before heading out on loan for a stint with Yeovil Town. At the end of his deal with Southampton, he joined Scunthorpe on a free transfer. So far he has spent time out on loan with Yeovil and now Carlisle while with the Iron.

It will be interesting to see if Carlisle manage to keep their loaned in hitman this January or if Scunthorpe opt to bring him back and cash in on interest from the aforementioned quartet.
