Leeds United heaps praise on impact of Whites’ home support

Speaking to the club’s official website, Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has said that the club’s home form is a massive credit to the club’s supporters.

Leeds United’s form in front of the Elland Road faithful so far this season has been almost faultless, losing just one game at home so far this season, coming against Swansea City back in August. And, the Whites continued their strong run of home form with a win over Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

Patrick Bamford brought an end to his goal drought – much to the delight of fans, players and staff alike – to put Leeds ahead, before Jack Harrison doubled their lead just five minutes later. Another five minutes passed and Derrick Williams pulled one back for Blackburn but Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured all three points.

Now, Leeds man Tyler Roberts – who has now started in the club’s last two wins – has moved to praise the club’s supporters for the role they play in keeping their run of strong home form going, also moving to praise Patrick Bamford upon the end of his goal drought. Roberts said:

“The football wasn’t as fluent as it normally was, but we still worked hard for each other and ground it out to get the three points. I’m buzzing for Patrick (Bamford), it’s been a long time coming, he’s kept focused and he deserves it and I’m sure the goals will continue to come now.

“I think our home form is a credit to our fans, they are amazing, they cheer us on and give us a massive lift, so we owe a massive thank you to them.

“I don’t think the league table matters too much at the minute, we’ve just got to keep getting the three points and try to win every game and we will look at the table a bit closer to the end of the season.

“I think the squad is stronger than last year, it is hard to keep your place in the team, but that is good. You need competition for places and it keeps everyone on their toes and working hard.”
