Peterborough United boss named manager of the month

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has been named as the Sky Bet League One manager of the month after an excellent October for his side.

Posh won three out of their five games in October, drawing the other two, with both draws coming against their promotion rivals.

Darren Ferguson’s side scored 13 goals in their five games, helping them keep pace at the top of the league.

The highlight of the month was the 4-0 victory over Accrington Stanley.

Speaking about the award, this is what Darren Ferguson had to say to the club’s official twitter page:

“Whilst it is nice to win the award, this is very much a team effort so I would like to thank the players, my management team and the supporters.”

Here is a look at Posh’s results in October:

Wycombe Wanderers 3-3 Peterborough United – Posh were denied a crucial three points due to a controversial Akinfenwa penalty.

Peterborough United 2-0 Lincoln City – Marcus Maddison and Ivan Toney were on the scoresheet as Posh recorded an impressive home victory.

Gillingham 1-2 Peterborough United – Peterborough were not at their best but a Joe Ward screamer and a Mo Eisa penalty secured an away victory.

Peterborough United 4-0 Accrington Stanley – An unbelievable second half performance saw Posh score four goals and sail to the top of the table.

Peterborough United 2-2 Coventry City – A last gasp Mo Eisa equaliser earned Peterborough United a point against promotion rivals Coventry City.

November has started poorly for Darren Ferguson and Posh, with two away defeats in a row at Blackpool and Shrewsbury Town.
