Fulham have confirmed on their official club website that star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has beaten his opposition to the title fo Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for October.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna, Sheffield Wednesday centre-back Julian Borner, Fulham hotshot Aleksandar Mitrovic and Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw all enjoyed thoroughly a successful October, and their performances were recognised by the EFL as they were nominated for Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month.

Now, it has been confirmed that Fulham forward Mitrovic has taken home the award after a fruitful month in front of goal. The Serbian international scored six goals in five games, including a brace against Reading and a hat-trick against Luton Town, taking him to 11 goals in 15 games for the season so far, making him the league’s top scorer.

The striker has been speaking to Fulham’s official club website upon the confirmation of his award, saying:

“It’s always nice when you win personal awards. It means that I did something right, that the team did something right as well, so it’s a nice feeling.”

The award comes just a matter of days after he was named as the PFA’s Championship Player of the Month, winning comfortably over some tough opposition. He beat the likes of Leeds United ‘keeper Kiko Casilla, Preston North End man Tom Barkhuizen, Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze, Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw and Brentford forward Said Benrahma to the PFA accolade.

Now, with November underway, Mitrovic will be hoping to continue his hot run of form to try and push Fulham up the table, with Scott Parker’s side currently sitting in 8th.
