Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White is currently enjoying a wonderful start to his loan spell at Sky Bet Championship club Leeds United, and despite receiving plaudits from the majority of people who have seen him play this year, White was quick to share the credit with his teammates.

The 22-year-old has had no experience of the Sky Bet Championship. He spent last season on loan at third tier side Peterborough United, but he has adapted to life at Elland Road wonderful, and has taken the majority of the credit for the fact that Leeds United currently boast the best defensive record in England.

However, White is not letting all of the praise go to his head. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the on-loan Brighton man said: “There is attention and praise and it’s really nice to see and hear it, but I know that I just have to keep focusing on making sure I’m the best I can be every time I step out onto the field.”

“People keep saying how well I’m doing but I know I have to keep my head down and continue working hard for the team to make sure we get the results we need to achieve our aim at the end of the season.”

Ben White was keen to share the praise with club captain Liam Cooper, who has partnered the 22-year-old at the heart of the Leeds United defence this season.
Speaking in an interview with parent club Brighton, he said: “Playing alongside Liam has been great too, he’s been really good for me.”
“His experience is really important for the side and he’s helped me to fit in with the team and will keep pushing me on to perform in the best way I can. We’ve kept our form strong and I’m delighted with how it’s gone so far, we’re doing really well.”
