Ipswich Town winger ready for tough test vs Rochdale

Ipswich Town winger Gwion Edwards has said his teammates need to make sure they head into tonight’s game against Rochdale with the right attitude, insisting that it will not be an easy game for the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich Town have the chance to return to the top of the League One table tonight as they travel to Greater Manchester to play against Brian Barry-Murphy’s Rochdale side at Spotland on Tuesday night.

The visitors are the favourites to pick up a result tonight given their far superior league position, with Ipswich sitting pretty in 2nd place while Rochdale are lurking closer to mid-table in 14th place.

However, one man who will not be taking league position and form for granted is Welsh winger Gwion Edwards. Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the game, Edwards has said that his teammates will have to give everything under the spotlights if they want to return to the top of the table. He said:

“We need to go with the right attitude because they won’t make it easy for us. A lot of players in our squad have played in this division and I’ve played at grounds like theirs so we need to use that to our advantage. Their fans will get on us and they’ll provide a tough test but if we stick to the game plan and give it our all then I think we can come back with the three points.”

Ipswich come into the game off the back of a 3-1 win against Sol Campbell’s Southend United, while Rochdale have lost their last two games, with the most recent coming against Bristol Rovers.
