League One
The game for the neutrals was found at Stadium:MK where the home side tucked four past Gillingham in a 4-2 victory for the home team. The Gills lead 2-1 at halftime thanks to Cody McDonald & a penalty from Danny Kedwell. A Kortney Hause own goal on the stroke of half-time turned the game in the Dons’ favour, who scored 3 goals in 6 second half minutes. Goals from summer signings Will Grigg & Kyle McFadzean and another own goal, this time from Aaron Morris gave all three points to the home side.
The early game on Sky saw title favourites Sheffield United host Steve Cotterill’s Bristol City side. Very much against the odds Aaron Wilbraham gave Bristol City the lead, scoring his first competitive goal in two years in the process. Sheffield United captain Michael Higdon deservedly put the Blades back on level terms. The game was settled by a Wade Elliott goal in the second half, after a beautiful flick from man of the match Aaron Wilbraham. This result has had a large impact on the odds of the destination of the title, with Bristol City’s odds shortened to 11/2.
