Neil Warnock discusses speculation regarding Cardiff City job

In the wake of Cardiff City’s derby day defeat to bitter rivals Swansea City, Neil Warnock has said that he is not worried about his position as manager of the Bluebirds.

After Cardiff City’s loss to Swansea City last weekend, some of the club’s fans moved to criticise manager Neil Warnock, coming under fire for the result.

However, speaking to Wales Online ahead of Cardiff’s game against Birmingham City, the 70-year-old has said that he is not worried about his future, insisting his focus is on the next game. He said:

“I’m sure the club have got everything in mind. It’s a properly run club Mehmet (Dalman) and Ken Choo talk to Vincent (Tan) all the time.

“As a manager, all you can do is your best until you’re told it’s no longer required. I’m sure behind the scenes they’re looking at the future. Every club is. As a manager, you’ve just got to focus on the next game. You’re always worried about a performance that’s not very good.

“You know you’ve let the fans down and they’re the ones you want to please really. This club over the three years I’ve been here, the difference has been magnificent, but if I’d been a fan on Sunday, I’m sure I’d have felt the same.”

Since becoming Cardiff City manager, Warnock has led the Bluebirds to the Premier League and last season, he almost defied the odds and kept the club in the Premier League. So far this season, Cardiff have been somewhat underwhelming, sitting in 14th place and without a win in four.
