Morecambe are in the hunt for a new manager for the first time in eight years after Jim Bentley’s departure to AFC Fylde. Here are five potential candidates to replace him-

Barry Roche and/or Kevin Ellison- The experienced duo have taken caretaker charge of the League Two side. Roche, 37, has been at the club for ten years whereas Ellison, 40, has been there since 2011.

Martin Devaney- He is currently the Barnsley Under-23’s manager and is an option for the Shrimps. The former Cheltenham Town, Barnsley, Tranmere Rovers and Kidderminster Harriers is a highly-rated young coach.

Stewart Drummond- His name has popped up in the running to replace his former Morecambe teammate Bentley. He spent two spells as a player with the Shrimps and made over 450 appearances altogether for them. Could he return to the Globe Arena as manager now?

Dave Challinor- With Bentley heading to Fylde, could the man he replaced at the National League side head the other way? The ex-Stockport County and Tranmere defender spent eight years with the Coasters and guided them to four promotions. His side won the FA Trophy last season but missed out on promotion to the Football League after losing to Salford City in the Play-Off final.

Steve Lovell- The 59-year-old has been available since he parted company with League One side Gillingham in April. His Gills side finished 17th during his first year at the club and came 13th last term after his departure. He could fancy a crack at the fourth tier with Morecambe now.
