Millwall player ratings as Gary Rowett era gets off to the perfect start.

Bartosz Bialkowski – 7

Did not have a save to make. Was a spectator for the most part.

Mahlon Romeo – 7

Excellent. Used his pace brilliantly to support Jed Wallace up and down the wings. Managed to cut inside the box a number of times and produced some good crosses.

Shaun Hutchinson – 7

Did not have an awful lot to do in the opening stages apart from a simple clearance from a ball that had been pumped into the box.

Jake Cooper – 7

Looked comfortable for the most part, made a couple of silly fouls. He was a threat in the opposing box but had very little to do.

Murray Wallace – 7

Both he and Mahlon Romeo worked very hard in supporting their wingers. He got himself down the wings a few times but

Jed Wallace – 8

Outstanding all afternoon. In the first half in particular he caused so many problems. His pace and skill on the ball separated him out from the rest of the players on the pitch. His performance got what it deserved after he scored from a penalty that he won himself. He can be pleased with his performance.

Shaun Williams – 7

Playing in what is his preferred position as part of a protective two in front of the back four. He alongside Molumby looked comfortable, they helped out the defence when required. The Rowett style looks like a lot more passing will be involved and that will suit Williams down to the ground.

Jayson Molumby – 7

Restored to the starting lineup after taking a place on the bench against Cardiff in midweek, looked sharp on his return will be a big player in the Rowett era. The style looks to invoke a lot more passing and a lot more possession of the ball something that will suit the Ireland U21 captain perfectly. He also went close with a late effort that curled over the bar from 25 yards.

Shane Ferguson – 7

A solid afternoon for him on his return to the side after sitting out Tuesday night He was a threat down the left hand side and was supported well by Murray Wallace. A solid afternoon for the Northern Ireland international.

Ben Thompson – 8

Got stuck in early on. Making himself known to the Stoke midfield in typical Millwall fashion. This typical with a foul he won off of Danny Batth. He got the ball rolling with the first goal. A stunning volley to give the hosts the lead. He caused problems all afternoon for the visitors.

Tom Bradshaw -7

Looked a lot more comfortable having the ball fed into him. He fell short of Alex Rae’s record of scoring in five consecutive games as he was replaced by Bodvarsson. His movement caused many problems for the Stoke back four it is clear that he spent a lot of time studying Lee Gregory.
