With such outstanding performances last season, Derby fans were hoping Grant could continue his form into the new season and he did not disappoint.
A solid performance from the keeper gave the Rams all 3 points against newly promoted Rotherham who threatened to spoil a dream start for Derby. Attempts from Paul Green and Kieran Agard in the last few minutes of the game left home fans praying for the final whistle but on both occasions Grant answered the call pulling off two fantastic saves on the goal line.
Grant will be key to Derby this season. Without another experiences goalkeeper in their ranks, game-winning performances like this one against Rotherham could just be the tipping point in what looks like another promotion-chasing campaign for the Rams.
