“Leeds will get up” according to former Spurs manager

Leeds’ hopes of gaining automatic promotion have been prominent since their convincing start to the 2018/19 season under new and influential manager Marcelo Bielsa, but it wasn’t to be in the Argentinians first season.

The Whites have had their critics but they’ve also had their fair share of support from media quarters, opinions that may not always be agreeable one way or the other, but there is no getting away from the fact that Leeds United are absolutely priceless when it comes to a story.

So far this season, Leeds have managed to stay amongst the front runners in the Championship, but goals are proving illusive again with their front men struggling with chance conversion, despite dominating most of their thirteen games so far.

So with this in mind, how would you rate their chances of achieving automatic promotion back to the Premier League this season?

When former Spurs and Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp spoke about the West Yorkshire sides chances, he had this to say to Leeds Live

“I’m not sure what will happen they seem to have a couple of good wins and then a bad result.

“The manager is a strange one I can’t quite work him out. He’s supposed to be a genius and he probably is, his record is good, I’m not sure what will happen but I think they will get up – it is an open division.”

“I thought they’d get up last year. I went to watch the game in the semi final of the playoffs at Derby and they murdered Derby. I found it amazing Derby turned the second leg around.”

“Leeds is a hard place to come, I always used to get a good beating.”

Jovial words as usual from the much loved former gaffer, who won the FA Cup with Portsmouth and was once the overwhelming favourite to become the England manager… a position he has sadly never held.

So do you agree with Harry’s sentiments regarding Leeds United… or has he overdosed on Sandra’s Jam Roly Poly?
