It has been reported by the Daily Record that Queens Park Rangers are considering a move for Hearts’ 17-year-old defender Aaron Hickey, who has also been linked with a move to fellow Championship side Leeds United.

Since his breakthrough into the first-team picture at Scottish Premiership side Hearts, young left-back Aaron Hickey has been reportedly attracting interest from clubs both North and South of the border. While Rangers have been linked with a move for Hickey, Premier League giants Manchester City have also been said keen, as have Southampton.

Now, reports have emerged claiming that Queens Park Rangers are considering a move for the youngster. We also covered reports here on The72 earlier today (Sunday) saying that Leeds United were also interested in the Scottish starlet.

Queens Park Rangers are among the sides to be scouting Hickey with a view to a potential move in the January transfer window. With current starting left-back Ryan Manning being linked with a potential move to the Premier League, it is unsurprising to see that Mark Warburton is checking out his options in the event that Manning makes a move away from the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Hickey, 17, made his debut for Hearts in the latter stages of last season and has since been a fixture in Craig Levein’s side. He has played in all but two of the club’s games so far this season, making 12 appearances over the course of this season, scoring one goal along the way.

Hearts will be hoping to hold on to Hickey this January but if some of the clubs said keen on him come in with big money bids, they may find it too hard to turn down.
