Milwall Player Ratings as Lions lose to Brentford.

Millwall were beaten 3-2 by Brentford in their last ever league visit to Griffin Park.

Alex Grace rates the Millwall players.

Bartosz Bialkowski – 8

Made a superb point blank save to deny Mathias Jensen early on. Made a number of interventions and made a brilliant save from Ollie Watkins after Shaun Hutchinson had given away a penalty. He made some brilliant stops throughout the game and had to be alert in the second half to deny Brentford a way back into the game after Millwall had gone 2-0 up. Could do nothing about any of the three Brentford goals that followed.

Mahlon Romeo – 7

Vital interception just before half time as Benrahma looked to advance and could well have created a goalscoring opportunity as Millwall did not have sufficient numbers back to defend.

Shaun Hutchinson – 8

Made a number of crucial interventions early on. A couple of last ditch headers and clearances. The decision to award a penalty against him looked harsh but Bialkowski helped him out by saving Watkins’ spot kick. Made another vital interception at then start of the second half as Watkins was played in by Dalsgaard.

Jake Cooper – 7

Quiet in the first half, his header from a corner was saved by David Raya. However, the referee blew his whistle for a foul.Made a number of clearances i the second half including one from a free kick that went for a Brentford corner.

Murray Wallace – 6

Struggled early on against Watkins but slowly managed to find a way to deal with the Brentford wide man. Got forward when he could as he tried to support Ferguson and Wallace in the attacking half.

Jed Wallace – 7

Was very positive and always looking to get forward when he could. He switched wings in the first half with Ferguson to run and unlock the Brentford defence. Had a shot from the edge of the box that was blocked in the first half.

Shaun Williams – 7

Delivered a corner straight out of play early on. Along with Molumby offers that calmness in midfield that at time Millwall lack. He took his time when on the ball to look up and pick out a pass for a teammate. He also looked to get the ball forward when he could. As the game went on he moved to more a defensive midfielder role and protected the defence well.

Jayson Molumby – 7

Offers something different for Millwall. When he is on the ball he looks very comfortable and will not rush into making a decision. He was replaced by Jon Dadi-Bodvarsson in the second half after putting in a lot of effort and doing a lot of the groundwork in midfield.

Shane Ferguson- 6

A quiet afternoon for the winger, he was almost gifted the opportunity to add to the scoreline. Tom Bradshaw did some brilliant work but sold the Northern Ireland international just short with his pass. Other than that he did not have much of an impact on the game.

Ben Thompson – 8

As usual got himself about everywhere making clearances in defence while also having a couple of early chances as he supported Tom Bradshaw. Kept the energy in the midfield in the second half as Millwall continued to cause the Brentford defence problems. Could argue that he should have been on the scoresheet as well.

Tom Bradshaw – 8

Did not see a lot of the ball in the first half but ran his heart out. He got his reward after being on alert to find the net after Raya had saved from Jayson Molumby. He caused the Brentford defence problems with his movement and proved just how valuable he will be to Millwall throughout the season. He now has three in three games and is coming into some good form at a good time for Millwall.
