Nottingham Forest linked with a move for Belgian striker

Nottingham Forest have today been linked with a January move for Belgian striker Hugo Cuypers according to Greek Media Outlet SDNA.

Cuypers is currently on loan with AC Ajaccio in the French second tier but he is now attracting interest from Championship side Forest.

Contracted to Olympiacos, Cuypers missed the first part of the season through injury but he has now netted four goals in four games and Ajaccio are unbeaten since his return to the side.

The 22-year-old is wanted by the Championship high-fliers who are currently lying in second place in the division with 22 points from 11 games and have only lost one game this season.

However, despite their strong start to the campaign, the one area in which they could improve upon is in the attacking department. Lamouchi’s side have only conceded nine goals in 11 league games and appear to be solid defensively but an additional striker would certainly help their cause.

Forest have scored 16 goals so far which is one of the fewest of the sides in the top half of the division and they will surely need to improve upon this if they are to stay in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Cuypers could return to the Greek giants in the New Year and he may then be loaned out to the City Ground for the remainder of the season.

There does appear to be a lack of depth behind Lewis Grabban in the Forest squad with backup Rafa Mir yet to score in the league for the Reds and this will be of concern to manager Sabri Lamouchi.
