Ex-Barnsley boss rules out Tykes return

As reported by Sky Sports News, Hibernian manager Paul Heckingbottom has ruled out a return to former club Barnsley, as they continue to search for a new boss after parting ways with Daniel Stendel.

Over the course of the past few weeks, Barnsley have been linked with a number of names as they look to bring in a new manager to replace Daniel Stendel, who was sacked by the Tykes after their poor start to the new season.

Former boss Paul Heckingbottom is one who has been linked with the vacant managerial post at Oakwell but now, the ex-Leeds United manager has said that he will not be taking up the role, but insisted that he will never stop supporting and will be looking out for who they bring in. He said:

“That is not for me. That’s for someone else. I will never stop supporting them and I’ll go down as often as I can. I haven’t seen them this season yet but hopefully I will at some stage.

“I’ll watch with interest who they appoint. But I’ll be honest, I’ve not been looking at names who are in for it – I’m too busy here.”

it is said by Sky Sports that Barnsley are looking at Europe for potential management options. They appointed Stendel as manager after his time as manager of Hannover and he helped guide them to the Championship, so they will be hoping that someone else can come in from the continent to help boost their survival hopes.
