Bristol City to reignite interest in Leeds United loanee in January

Bristol City will reignite their interest in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah in January.

The highly-rated youngster is struggling for starting opportunities on loan at Leeds United and could be recalled in two months time, according to a report by The Mirror.

The Robins tried to land him over the summer but he chose to sign for Leeds instead. Lee Johnson’s side are in the hunt for a new forward and could turn to a familiar face this winter.

Nketiah, who is 20 years-old, has scored four goals in nine appearances in all competitions for Marcelo Bielsa’s men so far this season. However, all of his game time in the Championship have come from off the bench.

Leeds United forward Edward Nketiah (14), on loan from Arsenal, scores a goal and celebrates to make the score 0-1 during the EFL Cup match between Salford City and Leeds United at Moor Lane, Salford, United Kingdom on 13 August 2019.

Arsenal want him to be starting every week to further his development so a move to Ashton Gate could be admirable for the Gunners.

Nketiah started his career at Chelsea but switched to Arsenal in 2015. The England Under-21 international made his debut for the London side in a Europa League fixture against BATE Borisov in September 2017.

He has since gone onto 19 times for the Gunners, chipping in with three goals and has been on their pre-season tours with their first team on a couple of occasions.

There is no doubt Nketiah is a real talent for the future but he needs to be getting as much game time as possible this season out on loan. Would Bristol City be a better home for him than Leeds?
