Cheltenham Town boss Michael Duff believes Hull City loanee Jacob Greaves is capable of playing at a higher level.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan with the League Two side until January and has impressed in the 11 appearances he has made for the Robins so far.
Greaves has said, as per a report by Gloucestershire Live: “It’s great to have positive feedback, but I am here until January and I want to do as well as I can for Cheltenham and see what happens. If the manager here says I can play higher, it’s good that a former Premier League defender has said that and that he believes in me.”
“Ultimately I believe in myself as well as I think I can play up the leagues, but I am just concentrating on playing here at the minute.”
Greaves, who is from Hull, rose up through the youth ranks at the KCOM Stadium and is being tipped for a big future at Grant McCann’s side.
He is yet to make a first team appearance for Hull but it may not be too far away. He has been a key player for their Under-23’s side over recent seasons and travelled to Marbella for pre-season with the senior side over the summer.
This loan at Cheltenham will give him bags of experience and will be beneficial for the rest of his career. It could be the case that he returns to Hull in January and is loaned back out to League One for the rest of the campaign.
