Bolton Wanderers are interested in free agent winger Ben Marshall.
The Trotters want to offer the 28-year-old a trial, according to a report by the Bolton News.
Marshall is in the hunt for a new club after being released by Norwich City in July. He is also currently on the radar of League Two side Salford City.
Bolton boss Keith Hill has confirmed his interest in him, as per the Bolton News: “We’re trying to encourage him to come into training with us. I have spoken to his representatives and we’d like the opportunity to have a look at him, and he can have a look at us.”
“He is currently without a club and he’s a very good player. With due respect we think he could benefit from taking a look at our club as much as we want to take a look at him.”
Marshall started his career as a youngster with spells at Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra before moving to Stoke City in 2009. He had loan spells at Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town, Carlisle United and Sheffield Wednesday prior to a move to Leicester City.
However, he struggled to break into the Canaries’ starting XI last season and subsequently re-joined the Lions.
Marshall will now be weighing up his options as Bolton look to swoop in.
