Walsall have completed the signings of  former Reading striker Mathieu Manset and midfielder Billy Clifford who was released by Chelsea earlier this week.

Manset, 25, is a strong centre forward, has a formidable goal record in England scoring 23 in 101 appearances in all competitions spread across all three Football League divisions , including 7 goals in 7 games in the FA cup, and seven assists. Clifford,21, announced on Twitter earlier this week that he would be leaving The Blues in order to gain first team football and subsequently his contract was cancelled. He has experience of League One having played 18 times while on loan at Colchester, scoring once and getting two assists. He  has also been on the bench for two of Chelsea”s Champions League games although he never got on the pitch.

Both players should ad depth to Walsall”s squad ahead of the new season and will most likely be welcomed by fans as good news.
