Kenny Jackett offers injury update ahead of Portsmouth’s clash with Burton Albion

Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that both Lee Brown and Marcus Harness will not be involved against Burton Albion tonight, joining Bryn Morris and Jack Whatmough on the sidelines.

Both Bryn Morris and Jack Whatmough have been on the sidelines with long-term injuries and now Kenny Jackett has confirmed that left-back Lee Brown and winger Marcus Harness will join them on the sidelines, missing tonight’s game against Burton Albion and also the clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

However, on the positive side, Gareth Evans will return to the squad having been ruled out of action for the Leasing.com Trophy clash with Norwich City’s Under-21s side through a dead leg injury picked up in training.

Jackett spoke to the club’s official website to provide the latest injury update, saying:

“Lee Brown and Marcus Harness at the end stage and we hope it’s not too long, but neither will play against Burton or Wycombe.

“Gareth got a dead leg in training on Thursday and had a fitness test on the Saturday morning. He wanted to play. But it gave an opportunity for Josh Flint and it was one that he took, with a goal and assist against Norwich. Gareth is fine this morning and is back in the squad for Tuesday night, which is very good news for us.

“Bryn Morris is more of a long-term injury, with him and Jack Whatmough the only other players out.”

Pompey will be hoping that they can secure all three points to turn around their disappointing start to the season, leaving them sitting in 18th place as it stands.
