Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has sent out a Twitter message to Whites’ fans following his return from injury.

Roberts stated on Twitter that it was a ‘great feeling’ to make a return to action for Leeds United as he helped the Under 23’s to a comfortable 6-0 win over Watford on Monday night.

The youngster is close to making a senior return which will come as a welcome boost to Leeds as they look to ease the goalscoring burden on Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah.

Roberts has been out of action since the start of the season for Marco Bielsa’s side but he came on after the break and converted from the penalty spot.

It was a pretty comprehensive win for Leeds United’s Under 23’s in the Professional Development League, with Luke Ayling also making a return and Eddie Nketiah netted a brace following his heroics on Sunday as he scored against Barnsley in the Championship.

Leeds returned to the top of the table at the weekend following their victory over Barnsley and they could look to open up a gap this Saturday as they are the early kick off and take on Derby County at Elland Road.

The game this weekend will see Leeds take on Derby for the first time since their play-off semi final defeat to the Rams when they were managed by Frank Lampard. Now with Phillip Cocu at the helm and them having had an inconsistent start, Leeds will be looking to get back to winning ways on home turf.

Roberts returning will only benefit the Yorkshire side as he was one of Bielsa’s better players last term, but he will no doubt want to kick on and showcase that he can take his game to another level this season and help win promotion to the Premier League.
