QPR manager Mark Warburton comments after beating Luton Town yesterday

QPR boss Mark Warburton was relieved after his sides’ 3-2 win over Luton Town at Loftus Road yesterday.

The R’s stormed into a three-goal lead after half an hour after a goal from Ebe Eze and a brace from Nakhi Wells.

However, the Hatters fought back into the match courtesy of strikes from Harry Cornick and James Collins to make it turn out to be a tense second-half for the hosts.

QPR held out for the three points though and have risen up to 7th in the Championship table, outside the Play-Offs on goal difference having won four of their opening seven games of the season.

Warburton spoke to their official club website after the game yesterday: “The fans definitely got value for money today. But all joking aside we were excellent in that first half an hour, it was as good as we’ve been all season.”

“Some of the movement and ball play was very good and the crowd were tremendous in getting behind us. We won the game and got the three points which is the most important thing but we have to learn from that second half.”

He added: “We recognised that we stopped doing what we do well as a side. We kept giving the ball away, slowed the movement of the ball down too much and we looked to hesitant. We spoke all week about what a talented side Luton are, with very good players which are well managed and they play without any fear.”
